Besides the normal 1 Betta, what other fish would you suggest for a small 2 gallon tank? I am getting 2 two gallon tanks and in one I plan on a Betta and maybe 2 dwarf frogs. I'd like to get another kind of fish for the 2nd tank so any advice would be great.

A pair of guppies would be OK but just be ready if they start breeding. Other than that there's really nothing that would be good for a 2 gallon.

I have read some things about white cloud minnows. I know they like to be in groups and swim a lot. But some have said they do just fine in a small desktop tank when kept in a group of about 3 or 4. Does anyone have any experience with these fish? If so could you give me some more information about them?

I wouldn't keep scholing fish in anything less than a 10 gallon and even that's pushing it. 2 gallons are great for bettas and OK for guppies and dwarf frogs if that's all you have in there.

If I remember correctly, white cloud minnows are fairly active schooling fish...so they need some room to move around. They might stress out in a 2-gallon, but I'm not sure (they are hardy fish, from what I hear). Also, they like cooler temps, if I'm not mistaken. I bet they do fine at higher temperatures, as well...but then again, I don't have any first-hand experience. :)

Don't forget that they school, so I think you need at least 4 in a tank. With a 2 gallon, I don't think you could comfortably fit much else...

Disclaimer: I'm a newbie--so make sure you double-check everything I say. :D
