Tank conundrum

Hello all,

I have a 12 gallon Eclipse that has been running happily for almost 4 years with all the same inhabitants:

1 blue gourami
3 Rosy barbs
1 cory cat
1 bristlenose pleco

Well within the last 3 months, I have lost 2 of the Rosy barbs. So today the tank looks very empty

I'm struggling with what new additions I should add. I've been considering restocking the barbs, but I'm really thinking it's time for a change. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Also, my wife has in her 20 gallon 2 Tiger barbs, and I'm considering relocating my barb to her tank (because I think they are schoolers) but I'm not sure if the difference in species will make them not school.

Any thoughts?

Hmmm, well for starters iim not too sure, but a bristlenose may be too big for a 12, not sure tho, but they are messy. Yes barbs are schoolers, but the have to be the same to school, rosies will only school with rosies, barbs only with barbs. Corys i beleive also like to be in schools. And for a new fish, i would get some Harlequin rasboras or some neon tetras.

I double second the the Harlequins. You could get about 5-6 of those guys, they are really interesting schoolers.
