Curious about if most of you use the glass canopy or the full hood with light included. I am trying to decide what to buy for 29 gal. Do the lights that come in the full hoods provide enough light for plants?

In general, standard hoods don't have enough light for plants. This is especially true with a 29g tank, which usually only has a single 20 watt bulb, which will grow only the very low light plants, if you're lucky. If you want to grow plants, you would be better off getting the tank and a glass hood, and getting a compact fluorescent light strip.
