Ive upgraded my 45g with a 96w bright kit and now that there is no vent the heat builds up and it has warmed my water some. This doesnt bother me because it warms the tank but ill need to fix this for the summer months since my tanks get up to and stay aroun 82d +.
So could i just use a drill and make a few holes in the sides to vent some heat? And if i do so will any of the light escape the hood? I want a nice planted tank but im not looking to light up my whole room. Thanks for any suggestions.
