Tank Hood Problems

Ok, I am having some major issues. I bought a 75 Gallon Aquarium today. I paid $125 dollars for the tank, wooden stand, and some decorations. I felt like this was a good deal at the time. Did I make a mistake? Just be honest with me. My problem is, that I don't have a hood. It did not come with a cover. I researched when I got home to try and find a hood cover. To my suprise, they are outrageously expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could go to get a good cover? I checked with Petsmart, but they don't carry this size. The dimensions are 48" X 18". Please help me. Thanks so much!

That's a really really really good deal. Theres a guy around my area trying to sell one the same size for $300. I keep telling him it's too much and if he'd go down to $150 it'd be worth it, but he insists on keeping it at that price.

I think you did awesome, if not ripped the other guy off! ;)

It's still a good deal at that price.

You have a couple of choices. First, you could build a hood. Second, you could get a glass canopy and rest the lights on it. Third, you could buy a hood.

What you choose may depend somewhat on what you plan to do with the tank. If you're planning a reef tank or a planted tank, the hood would be useless anyway.

Does this tank have a center brace?

Yes, The tank does have a center brace. I'm thinking about reselling it. I just can't find enough room for it. I know that is stupid but I'm just going to have to. How much should I sell a 75 gallon tank for. It has no hood. It does however have a wooden stand with cabinets and a few decorations and plants. It has a filter also but it requires a replacement part. How much should this be sold for?
