Well, I tested my tank today to see if it held water. It seemed to hold up fine for about 5 hours so I emptied the tank and brought it back inside. Theres one scratch on it but its not to bad, but the center brace is cracked from being melted by a lizard light. the black ring around the top seem sto almsot in sections and isnt one continuose peice. The tank is made for fish but says not to fill with water if center brace is broken. My friend told me to get a peice of stainless steal and have it as my cnter brace. IS their anything else I should do to make the tnk safer, I really want to use it or atleast have it useable for the future. PLease anyhelp you have will help me:)

thanks:confused:

Is there any way that you could get or make a U-shaped piece of metal that fits the depth and just put it accross the middle? If not, I would just make a wooden frame/canopy with 2x4 supports going across were the brace was. That would be even stronger than a little piece of plastic wouldn't it.

Then again, the tank might be fine the way it is and you might not have to do anything to it.

what im planning on doing is geting a peice of stainless steal, making it a like half ectangle shape and have it go from the outside front to the outside back for support. I have a pic of what I wanna do:

yea what I want to do is make like a peice that would stainless steel. on the two sides it would be about like 3 inches long and in the middle it would be the leangth of the outside front, to the outside back of the tank. Then slip it over the tank to give it extra support and then put my lights over it. I have a picture but I cant post it. I hope you can get a visual picture

I have heard of something that some people have tried. I do not have a pic of it, but I will try my best to explain.

Take a threaded rod a little longer than the width of your tank. Use large washers on each end, and secure the washers with bolts, making sure the washers are on the outside of the tank.

Hmm, bad description but I hope you kinda get the picture. Its not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works.

I think what ill do is use the metal brace, and maybe use some silicone to form another brace over the brace that has broke, I will have to cut it a little becasue its not just cracked, its like melted from a heat lamp so its pretty mangaled, but ill siilcone another peice of metal over the missig brace and then the metal half rectangle from outside fornt to outside back
