My Oscar Loves them. He goes and lays in them for the massage.  *laughingcryingsmiley*. Also, luvfishies, I got some different dechlor until I get my aqua plus called Chlorinex by Kent. Is that good stuff? Let me know.

We are religious about bubble curtains/walls, whatever the heck you wanna call them.  All our bigger tanks have them in one form or another.  Even the small fish seem to love them.  The kribs just go nuts over them.  Even the African knifefish love them.  Like Colesea said, if the oscar loves them, let them there and let him do his thing.

Asp - those are live plants, correct?

I think how many live plants you decide to have will influence your bubble decision.  The bubbles cause surface agitation - which will reduce the CO2 levels.  Plants use the carbon for photosynthesis.  Herein lies the dilema.

What I have decided, with many questions and answers from MFT, is to have the CO2 running 24/7 and a airstone on a timer, when the lights go off - the airstone goes on.  The airstone agitates the surface, helping to reduce the CO2 so the fish have plenty of O2.  And I also get to see some bubbles.

But if your not going for the big time planted tank, I'de keep the airstone.  I love bubbles!
