tank still good?

We have an older tank in our basement that my roommates uncle gave us, and im not sure if it is still useable. Anyways, i know that bigger tanks usually have a plastic support strip that goes over the middle of the tank, but this does not have one. just wondering if the tank needs that to beable to hold water, and if so is it replaceable/repairable. here is a picture of what im talking about, notice the lack of bar across the middle.

how high is the tank? how thick is the glass?

the volume of the tank is irrelevant to the pressure on the glass, only the depth(I love physics!), so if the depth isn't more than 18 inches, then it doesn't need much strength; I wouldn't worry about it(unless it origionally had the center support and it was broken off/removed)

not sure how thick the glass is, but i believe it to be a 75g tank, if i can find a tape measurer i will post the stats

gallons mean nothing, only the height. but like I said, as long as it didn't origionally come with the support, it'll be fine.

We have a 55g that has no center brace (it was removed by a previous owner). We haven't had any problems with it at all, and it's been moved around the house several times.
