Tank temp????

:confused: what is the proper tank tem for my tropical fish? :confused:
oh yea I have the following fish:
9 head and tail lights
5 glow tetras
29 gal tank
1 under gravel filter
1 wisper 2000
1 rena filstar xp
1 30 watt heater

I have raised the temp to 78-80 and the fish are more active.Before they just stayed in one place (nere the heater) they seem to be happy with the temp now. Thanks.

You could probably use a bigger heater...the general rule is 2-5 watts per gallon on heaters. I think I have a 75 watt in my 29 and it seems to do the trick. Otherwise when the temperature in the room changes the heater might have trouble keeping up with the changes in the wintertime. (depending on where you live of course)

But glad they're acting better with warmer water :)
