i have a 48" by 12" by 18" tank. anyone else who has this size tank how many gallons do u have. i was told it was a 55g but i used a online calculator and it said it is a 45g tank so i want to know what everyone else has.

when i meant by "i want to know ehat you have" i mean i want to know how mnay gallons u have with those measurements.

Kinghts725 how is it a 55g tank if the calculator tells me its a 44 point something and they around it up to 45G thats not even close to 55g. thats 10g less

are you sure that the width and Height measurements are right?

that type of 55G tank is usually 48"L x 13"W x 20"H

I have a 75G that is 48"L x 18"W x 20"H, only difference is the width.
I had looked at the 55G but deciced I liked the wider tank more....

if you measurements are correct, than however sold/gave you that tank didnt know what they were talking about. hopefully you didnt get hosed by a LFS....
if you did, I'd try to get 20% of my money back......

Yeah it's less than 55... my 55g is 48x13x20 not 18... well it would be 18 if u don't count the trim

so if you count the trim then mine is 20" also so then does that mean i have a 55g tank?

you should be counting the trim though (for the height measurement at least), the glass does extend into the base trim and the top trim.....

but the width should be measured directly on the glass, that should be 13" if its a 55G

glad to hear you didnt buy it from a LFS though, I know I would be pretty ticked if I got shorted 10G!
