Tankmates for Alto. compressiceps

Im going to get a 30 gallon tank i want to get 1 or 2 Gold Head Altolamprologus compressiceps what could i put in with them?

Altolamp multifasciatus, A brevis, Neolamprologus similus, Lamprologus occelatus.

you could have rockwork for the comps, with some open area littered with shells for ONE of the shellie species.

i read that small fish are the natural prey of them would this be a problem, if so would some julidochromis work?

I would think that julies would work. Just a pair though as 30g isn's all that much room.

I was thinking shellies while the comps were small...

im gonna try and get a wild caught one about 4-5" for like $50 instead of getting 1 inch ones for 15 and waiting 3 years for them to grow

also any fish i could get from other lakes to go with that have similar eating habits to prevent bloat

Hmmmm..leleupis come to mind as well....aggressive buggers though.

some lake Vics and lake Edwards could work too, but I would stick with Lake Tanganyikans for now.
