I have three small (1.5-2.5 inches) calvus 'inkfins' that currently call my 45 gallon (36x18) tank home. The tankmates for these are a well established colony of N. multiefaciatus, and 6 danio's.

When I had these guys in QT, they seemed very outgoing and not shy at all, but since the move into the 45 they stay mostly hidden within the rockwork. From the looks of things however it seems that most of this is because of the mutlies tring to take over the entire tank for themselves.

I know that generaly speaking bigger is better. More water volume = less changes in the water chemistry and temp. But in the past I have heard of people saying that some fish became more shy in larger tanks untill they got a bit of growth to them. And we know it's going to be a good while before these guys get some growth.

I could easily put them in my 75 gallon to let them escape being harassed so much my the multies, but I don't want them to get lost and not be able to see them (which is kind of where I am now). I'm just wondering if those who have kept them, how did juvies react in a larger enviornment?

Tank mates in the 75 include another colony of multies that is not as large as the one in the 45, 5 Syno. multipunctatus, one sub-adult Julie dickfeldi, one adult N. brevis and a female krib (don't ask *SICK* )
