temperature control

I live in malta and in the summer months my the temperature in my tank always exceeds 32 degrees celsius which is very high (i get a lot of dead fish at the end of the summer )

can i find any equipment which i can use to cool the water down?

please help!!!!!!!!!!

There are chillers available (saltwater tanks sometimes use them), but they cost about $500 and up.

Do you have air conditioning? That can keep the temps down, but of course it is expensive to run. What are you room temperatures like? If the lights are making the water hot, you could install a fan under the hood (if there is room), or point a small fan at the tank to take away some of the heat.

Many people float frozen plastic soda (Pepsi etc.) bottles filled with frozen water in their tanks to keeps temps down. Of course, that could be a pain to do every day in summer, but it certainly is a cheap alternative.

Also if this is outside try some flating plantgs like watersprite, anacharis, salvinia or such. Shading via trees and other shrubbery help as well

AZOO makes a reasonably priced chiller/heater (less than $500). I personally have not used it but i'm seriously thinking about it... Check it out...

You might look into this more reasonable idea. It requires drilling a hole but it is like 400 dollars less than all the others.
