I'm running frighteningly low on tropical fish food. I usually use the Tetramin tropical fish flakes.

I recently got a whole ton of supplies for my fish from a friend who didn't have fish anymore, so he gave me a 10g tank with a ton of supplies. One of the things he gave me was a full 1.0 oz container of Tetrafin goldfish flakes.

Until I can get to Petco, would it be OK to use these flakes for my fish? I might be able to get to the store today, but in case I can't...

Thanks!

I don't think it will harm you fish for a few days, but in my experience they are larger flakes and you have said your mollies aren't very large so I would crumble them a bit.

I usually buy the 1 oz food containers, but this time I got a whopping 6.8 oz one! It was cheaper than the usual brand I get, will the fish handle the brand change well? The flakes are a different color than the usual ones.

They should adapt, generally speaking flakes are the bottom of what fish need, they contain a little bit of everything, fish will survive on them, but pellets\ bloodworms \ brineshrimp for variety, a decent pellets is usually better than a great flake.
