Tetra Whisper pumps and heaters

Are the Tetra Whisper line of heaters and airpumps any good?

I never recommended them while i worked at Petco, but to be honest my first heater was a whisper and i still use it on my 10 gallon 3 years later =P

Have several Whisper power filters and I like those...but haven't ever tried a Whisper heater or airpump, sorry!

My favorite heaters are Hagen Tronic...the submersible kinds. As my other heaters die off they are getting replaced with those.

When I started fishkeeping back in the dark ages, Whisper only made air pumps. They stood head and shoulders above the rest because they were fairly inexpensive, quiet, and easy to maintain and rebuild.

I still have a couple of them. Even though I rarely use them, they still work (or did last time I checked). The older one has got to be at least 20 years old.

Twenty or so years ago I had a Whisper air pump in a five gallon tank that worked great for years. I assume that they're even better now. Nowadays I've been running a Whisper power filter going on 3-4 years with no problems. I think they're built well. I don't know about the heaters though.
