Just a couple of minutes ago one of my angels just died(well, it moves very little but is on the bottom)
I think it was a victim of fin and tail rot.
I've notice that a couple of my angels had a little bit of damage on their fins but i thought they were just fighting a little cuz it was very little damge so i just added some salt. Last night i notice that 2 of them weren't moving much, just staying up by the surface. They wouldn't even come up to me when i go up to the tank like they used to looking for food. Today I did a 50% water change and added melafix. What causes fin and tail rot? I don't have any filters in my tank right now because they all crapped out on me(2). So i've been doing 3-4 (30-50%) water changes everyweek. I waiting for some sponge filters to arrive. I hope they all recover.
Is there anything i can do to help them?

None of my other fish are effected.
 :(
