Boy, the people at Greyhound buses are rude. I sent an e-mail asking about fish travel and they copied and pasted... and bolded and italisized and UNDERLINED the text that ANY animals are not allowed on a bus.

yeah... im thinking about the cooler idea that someone gave me. Has anyone traveled with a fish via bus before? It will be about 1 day 3 hours for my trip.

Im trying to figure the best way to do it. I have the battery operated air pump. At most I will have to worry about the sound of it LOL.

Personally, I'd e-mail a online fish supplier and ask them how they do it. I think the fish that are shipped are in thier bags for about 24 hours.

How would you manage a cooler via bus? Tape the airpump and batteries to the top of it and let the fishies swim about? I'm sure Greyhound would be much kinder if you had them in individual plastic bags in a cooler. I think they're worried about spills on the bus.

I was planning on putting him in his plastic bowl in the cooler and then putting the pump next to it. I can use a rubber band to put a bag over the bowl so it doesnt splash.

It's like a half gallon plastic bowl that he was given to me in. It has a lip Ive put covers around before.

It wont be the most spacious places for him but thats better than a Ziploc bag lol.

I had explained everything to them but they just snapped back at me.

I'll just have to be super covert.

I had contacted 5 airlines about fish travel but half said no, a few said Id have to pay for a full seat for him, and another told me a goldfish in a plastic bag is a terrorist threat.

Sheesh.
