the funny things clowns do...

ok. when i first bought my four clown loaches they paired of but werent doing much. one of my loaches died (sad to see him go,but the only death in my tank so far yay!) and the remaining single loach just hangs out in my plants all day watching the other two play. he still eats when i put in food and he swims upside down whenever i give him a chunk of tubifex worm, so i guess hes ok. im gonna go get him a buddy in a day or two anyway though.

my other pair are happy as can be and do all kinds of funny things, but do one thing that kind of puzzles me. when i put food in the tank they go up and eat and then they start cleaning they other fish while they eat (remora style almost, and it doesnt seem to harm or offend any of the fish they do it to.) has anyone else seen them do this type of behavior?

i don't think their cleaning off the fish. thats aggression, they want the food all to themself or selves.

it could be, but the fish dont seem to mind?
and they get enough food because i feed them a couple of times a day(just pinches) but the first day i had all these fish i fed them till they stopped eating so i knew how much to feed them each day.

ill heed your advice though, and keep my eyes peeled. thanks racerfish!*thumbsup2

Hehe. I have 2 clowns in my tank and they do display funny behaviour. Sometimes they will be grumpy with each other and fight a bit, nothing serious though. Other times they will be hanging out together in the driftwood or what not. Sometimes I will catch my algae eater resting on top of one of the clowns. I can't help but laugh when I see them interacting this way.
