This is kind of a silly question, but....

One of my angels, Illusion, is a little bit fatter that my other three. Illusion didn't come this fat. I was just wondering if that means that Illusion is a girl or maybe just a fat angel fish. I've read that you can't tell until they have babies (or something like that), but I'm just curious. Thanks for reading. Here is a front and a side pic of Illusion. Tell me if you need more.

So, it's more certain that Illusion is a girl? That's neat news. It's possible then that I need to change Aryanna's name. If you've seen this angel, it's my white one. I'm thinking that these two have possibly paired up because they are usually hanging out together. I'll post a pic of this angel and ask for suggestions in a male name for him (if it is a male). I'm not always good at that.

I haven't seen any eggs, but she's been this way for a while. What should I do when she does lay them and how will I tell that they are eggs? Where would be the most logical place for her to lay the eggs? I'm affraid they might not last long.

I don't have a separate tank for this type of thin unfortunately. My dad might let me move some of my fish into his tank for a little while, but I'm thinking that the eggs will get eaten or something to that effect. I'll have to see if I can sell the babies to the LFS when they're big enough. That or give some to my borther-in-law. If I do have success and some you who are close by me would like some I would be happy to sell the babies to you, but again that is if I have any success. A lot of questions I know, but having a female egg layer that may be carrying eggs is a first for me (other than the time my fiddler crab I had was carrying them).

Sorry, I can't add much, other than to say that I'm excited for you and your angels. I hope it works out with them being a pair and having babies. I think "Aries" is a good 'boy name' that is similar to "Aryanna."

Good luck!

This is the possible mate. If this one is diffinately a male I would like suggestions of names.

I have been calling it Aryanna in hopes that it was a girl, but I'm thinking other wise now. That and the information I asked about above would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.

Mine love to lay eggs on the filter intake. They look like little round opaque (if viable) balls all in a group. If they are no viable they will be white or turn white. The parents will pretty much stay in the spot they have layed the eggs protecting them them and faning them. It is quite interesting.

Good luck.
