Tiger Barb Buddies

Hi all,

right now in my 29 gallon I have a red-tailed black shark, 6 zebra danios, and two speckeled corys...I want to get a small school of tiger barbs (I am thinking five) I know they are fin nippers but I don't see that being a problem with any of these fish. Following that I am looking into getting a couple larger fish (not too large, maybe 5 inches max) and I was wondering what you all thought about this. Will my aquarium be overstocked if I add more?

I have to say I had a red tailed black shark in with my group of tiger barbs and they hated each other. You could probably try a school of six and see how things work out.

watch out.. once they get in the tank they nip
they are very active.. and they dont tend to stop nipping.
they tore almost all of my guppies tail off

Its been 2 days...no problems yet...will continue to keep a watchful eye

only hate barbs because they killed my rainbow! once. but i have to say they are a nice fish to watch! they have loads of energy!

I think they get to big!! i have 3 albinos and 2 greens all schooling together, but they don't seem to bother my 4 guppies!! Or my swordtails!!!

Yeah I think they are adorable little fish when they are little hehehe....anyway I think they will get along fine w/ long fin fish as long as you have space for hiding and enough feeding.....
