Hi i brought a tiger oscar about a week ago its about 2" and im just wondering how quick nd how big do they grow? thnx

They grow relatively quick, ecspecially if you feed them well. Probably get to around 12 inches but it isn't uncommon to see bigger. Good luck with it .

Agreed with the above, they grow pretty fast and will need a large tank pretty soon after you get it.

A guy i know's O grew 5 1/2" in 5 months, and still shooting up.

I hope he is not in that tank in your sig, with all the other at least foot long species. And it cycling....

what size tank is your oscar in?It is way overcrowded if it is in that 30 gallon w/all those other fish....you are looking at a 200 gallon for all those fish.....

No you are looking for a pond.....and pond alone for the RedTail cat. They can get over 4ft long. Tiger shovelnose can get what...42". Oscars get to around 12-14". The Pleco (considering its common plec) can reach 12", same with the clowns. But i think the clows, and gouramis will become feeders before they reach a good size. A good size pond.....maybe a in ground pool size.

I believe, from reading max's other posts, that at least one clown did already become an expensive feeder. And that it is no longer cycling, he just hasn't changed his signature.

I don't see a red tailed cat, though...maybe a red-tailed shark?

i havent got the german rams anymore they became lunch to my shovelnose and the red tailed shark went back cause he was to agressive, the oscar is in the 30 at the moment but soon im going to get a bigger tank. thnx for the info max

tetracichlid brand cichlid granules thats what i used to feed my oscar and its what i feed my convicts now. theyre about the same size as your oscar

I don't think the retard comment was really needed. 2 new large tanks? What size? That will give you 5 tanks total, right...now you only need another 6 to catch up to me. Of course by then I will have the fish room built and have another 20 tanks on top of what I already have.

So is trying to measure your manhood really a question of how many tanks or how mature you act? I think you'll lose out either way. Save the retard and bashing comments till after you go through puberty and then think if they are the correct thing to say.

sorry, eco, I didnt really mean to say the retard comment, I wrote it and then meant to erase the retard, then post it, then I accidentally posted it before I erased it.I dont mean to start another argument like the one between cichlid man and blueturq......

The new tanks will be a 55 gallon long and a 29 gallon (not too large, but enough so no tanks are overcrowded)

I didnt say it was a competition of who had more tanks, I just said I was getting 2 more to get rid of the overcrowding.....
