Hi in my 12 gallon tank, with Lancelot, I now have this horrible tiny snails I have counted about 10 or so. They seem to be coming out of nowhere...

Do I need this suckers (no put intended!) or should I get rid of them?

I cleaned my tank and got rid of the brown algea growing all over the place, at that time I seemed to have "acquired" these things...

I am guessing they came off plants. Do you use real live plants?

I hate snails just because once you have them they keep producing and they hid. So even if you wash stuff off you can still transfer them to other tanks.

If you want to get rid of them look at this i found.... http://www.aquatic-store.com/articles/snails.html

At none other than www.aquatic-store.com :D

Right now you might only have 10 or so, but in a short while you will have tons! They will get in your filter and filter tube, all over gravel and deco. and generally make the place look messy and bad. I didn't mind have a few snails in my tank but now its like I', having a snail war! They have gotten out of control.I would suggest you get rid off them while they are still managable.

Well I spent the last hour and a half cleaning out Lancelots tank.. Gross!! Snails everywhere.. Washed the gravel, sides of tank etc, plastic plants, live plants! Everything except the bio wheel. I changed the filter, which I hadn't done for a month.. So I am waiting for the "prime" to kick in before putting him back in.. Poor little guy he is in a bowl looking sorry for himself, well in 20 more minutes he will be "home"!

I got my snails on plants that I bought. They are actually helping to keep the tank clean along with my pleco. I have about a dozen that I've been able to spot all at once. They haven't become a problem for me just yet.
If they do, I will probably try the Clown Loach method of control. Good Luck.
