I know nothing about brine shrimp, I purchased some eggs to hatch, but before I do, I thought I better do a bit of research, anyone got some tips? Thanks.

You should get some marine salt and search google.com..there are many weird home made brine shrimp hatchers(most involving the famosu 2 liter soda bottle and an air line)

Yes.they are saltwater critters.adn don't expect them ot be big...the babies are for feeding fry.

Tiny tiny. The water will look red and sparkly, you'll see tiny red dots, but not a whole lot of detail. Usually fresh hatched fry can last about 48hrs, but after that it is best to get rid of it. Artemia naupli feed on microscopic algae and plankton, and that is even harder to culture than the shrimp itself!

When we cultured it in the lab, we did so in 5 gallon water cooler drums with a spickot. Open the spickot and you had your artemia without mess! Course you probably won't use 5 gallons of artemia in one day the way we did.

The water should be about 80 degrees farenheit, one way is to hang a 1 liter bottle into another aquarium if you have one, and set the temp to 80. Just make sure that you have at least 1 air hose in it, and no air stones in it. Just keep the bottle above the water level of you other aquarium so the water won't mix.

I don't have an extra tank... Has anyone raised brine shrimps at room temperature (60-70F) before?

I am also thinking about hanging a bottle of brine shrimps into the main tank. Do you think it will drive my fishes crazy?

No that would probably work in another aquarium. That is what I was explaining up there. I don't think your fish would bother the bottle at all, just make sure you have a lot of air in the bottle, without airstones.
