to kill or not kill?

I have a rosy barb (our oldest rosy; had him 3yrs now) with what appears to be pop-eye. Besides his eyes popping outward he is now also swimming very eradicly (sp?).

I changed over 50% of the tank water & have been medicating with maracyn-2 (& prima-fix). After noticing his illness I ordered meds online; I wonder if the wait was too long.

Any suggestion for me?
Should he be killed? :(

kill.... HOW? I reallllllyyyy don't want to!

It was wise of you to seperate the fish from the tank because POPEYE ? Is there any signs of dropsy? Is the eye cloudy is there a ring of skin underneath it? Popeye can be cured but it might result in the loss of his eye. Fish can survive without one eye dont kill the fish. Keep on medicating that fish.
