What kind of fish would I buy that would eat baby platies but would leave the rest of my fish alone. I have albino cories, swordtails, platies, and silver tip tetras. Any suggestions? I am thinking of putting all of these fish in a 55-80 gal tank and am afraid that I will have too many platies in the end.

Silver dollars are classified as herbovores, but when they get larger; although not over aggressive, will generally snag smaller fish. I put peas in my tank and they go crazy over them, and they will also eat tubifex worms too. I used to have about 7 neons in there, and they were gone in a week. My mom has 3 fairly large silver dollars in a 48g tank, and they seem to do ok in there, but she can't buy very super small fish, like neons, or glolights. They are one of my freshwater fish. If you do get some, make sure you check there fins closely, as I have noticed lately that the ones in nearby lfs's are not very healthy.
