Too many snails

Hey everyone, ive got wayyy too many snails in my 29 gallon tank, right now theyre still pretty small but i want to kno how i can get rid of them, if theres a small fish i could put in my tank that eats them or something. Thanks

take a piece of lettuce or cucumber and stick it in your tank overnight, then in the morning take it out and it should be covered with snails. dont get a fish just to fix the problem.

My tank is already planted with live plants tho, they all stick to them non-stop, will they go for the lettuce instead?

there was someone talking about putting a peice of cucumber in your tank and let it sit for a few hours, go back and it should be covered with snails, just remove it, throw it in the trash.

ive always heard good things about it, regardless of if you have live plants or not. try it and let us know

Boiled cucumber will be soft enough for them to eat. Live plants usually aren't.

My mom had the same problem, soooooo many snails. The lettuce thing didn't work. She ended up buying a Clown Loach, and he ate everyone one of the snails and the eggs. There were little bunches of eggs everywhere. It was crazy. You'd have to have a bigger tank for the Clown Loach eventually, but it definitly got rid of the problem.

Alright thanks for the info everyone. Not sure what im gonna do yet since my girlfriend loves snails and she wont let me do the cucumber thing and throw em into the garbage, although ill prolly do it and hopefully she doesnt notice. Anyways thanks again, see ya

Feeding less is a good way to control the population. The more food there is, the more snails you will have.
