Top Fin LED hood..

I just opened and assembled the LED hood that came with my Petsmart Top Fin 29 gal kit. Ugh.. I dunno. It's about as substantial as a soda bottle.

The strand of 7 LED pods snaps into pockets on the underside of the hood and the kit comes with a plug in power adapter with an on/off rocker switch.

It is blindingly bright when I fired it up though..

Everything is made cheaply these days. Honestly though you don't need that much hardware for an led hood. I bought two marinland led strips from petsmart and the feel very breakable, but they work pretty well.

The Top Fin 30 HOB filter came in a clear plastic bag in the kit. It feels like a black cool whip container with a power cord. LOL!! The heater looks/feels decent, as does the tank. I didn't expect premium quality all for $100. It's a start for me I guess!

I stopped at Petco today. Their low-end stuff seems a tad better than Petsmart's IMO.
