torn fins

this sounds sort of dumb but do angelfish grow back their fins? I bought an angelfish and part of its fin seems torn. Every other fish in the tank I bought it had torn fins too. Is there a medication or something I could give them to help grow it back or will it stay like that forever?

Just keep feeding them and the fins will keep growing. Actually the whole fish will keep growing. They will only stop growing if either the angelfish is dead, you stop feeding him, or if he doesn't have enough space in the tank.

MELAFIX is the best thing to use in healing of torn fins- it is all natural, and will not harm plants.

you can pick up a bottle from walmart, petsmart, or most places that sell aquatic and such.
it only cost about 3 bucks., if that.

thank you but ive decided to treat his fins once my other angelfish stops biting them off.
ITS SO TERRITORIAL!! Grrr.

Maybe you should separate your angels if one is biting fins off the other. What size tank do you have them in?

IME Melafix does not repair torn fins on angels, I treat my angel with melafix every day for over a month and saw no difference.
