Well, I'm leaving the hot and arid desert for something a little more tropical: The Flordia Keys! :D

I'm most defintly taking Den-Ki with me in a cool little .5G plastic rectangular container that comes with a lid with a hood.

Will there be anything I should worry about when on the road? I already plan on taking bottled water for fear of out of state water for water changes. Any other precautions?

bumps, and eagles,

Bumps, they will spill the water and maybe the fishy out of its watery home

Eagles, find fish to be a tasty delight, If you have a sun-roof or a convertable I would watch out for them

other then that, i would say have a great vacation.

Yup, I'm staying with friends in the Keys while the parents get settled in Clearwater. Once they get settled in, then I'm heading to that area to stay with them.

Well CoNMaN, no sunroofs here so he'll be safely be out of sight from any large predatory birds.

I've also figured out the 'spill' problem. I filled the container (6" tall) with about a inch and a half of gravel/sand and secured small plants along the bottom. The small plants will probably help Den-Ki feel more secure.

I filled it up til the water level was right above the plants (about 3 inches). It's shallow enough that water wouldn't spill so easily, but he'd still have plenty of room to swim about.

I took a enormous Ziploc bag and enclosed the whole thing. *ding* WATERPROOF. Let's just hope this works cross country. :D
