I have a question about both my Jewels. You can see in the picture attached, they keep their top fin pressed down and their tail fin squeezed together. It is not fin rot, they just keep them pulled in. The one kinda seems like he is red (or bleeding maybe) at the base of his side fins (the one's he swims with). I was thinking maybe it was just sores or something and that I could treat it with Melafix without harming any other of my fish. My other fish all seem fine. Even the two jewels don't seem to bad except for their fins... they still swim around and eat. The only other thing i've noticed is that my red zebra (who is orange) his gills seem red, but I am pretty sure that is just his coloring... right?
do you think it would hurt to treat with the melafix? would it go away on its own if I didn't treat it and there was a problem? I know this is a "Natural" med so I didn't think it would hurt much, and I just happened to have some.
also I guess... underneat his mouth and gills he seems to be a little red. The one is hard to tell b/c he is a red jewel but the other one is blue, so the red is kinda potent
