two plecos??help

just got a new tank with a pleco already in it, will it be ok to have two plecos the tank is 4ftX2ftx18inches or does one have to be sent to the naughty corner, by the way one is 12inch and one 8inch cheers

theyre common plecos right ?... I would say they are both way to big to be kept in a tank that size.

How many gallons is it ?

i worked out your tank size is 89.7 US gals. its quite a big tank so im not to sure on the plecos.

i know theyre big guys,my pleco is a common one and the other is the same but with bigger fins. just think they may be teratorial, but mine has always been very docile, but it maybe different now

If your tank is about 90gals then yes i would say your tank is big enough for a common but not both plecos.

they will be fine together, they may have a scrap every now and then but basically they will both stake out territories on the opposite sides of the tank. Just keep in mind the bioload from the 2 big guys and keep up on the WCs and you'll be cool.

I have 2 common plecos (approx 12 inches each) in a 75 gallon tank, with only a handful of other smaller tropical fish. Anyway, the plecos are just fine together, of course they have been raised together since only like 3 inches long. Maybe things would be different if they were just introduced to each other now, as adults.
