Well, my sister had a party, (60+) people, anyway i had everything put away except for my DIY co2 reactor. I even put a towl over the tank to keep the kids attention somewhere else. Obviously they were more interested in the co2 bottle and decided to squeeze it. Well i was out at another party with my friends and i got home around 10:30 to get something. I decided to check on the fish. I took off the towl and i see my water is cloudy! I then look at the co2 bottle and noticed it had been squeezed. So as instinct i automatically get the python out and drain the tank about 80%, although the other problem is that i dont have any declorinator. So i have to boil the purified water and mix it with cold water so i dont shock my discus. While i am doing all this i walk back down to check on the discus and some kid decided he was gonna put a piece of bread in the tank. grrrr...... so i took some soggy bread out of my aquarium. ( i dont know if this was done intentionally or if these kids are just buzzed although they might be because Ellen's friends are kinda odd.)Well, i filled everything back up and it seems fine, by then it was about midnight and the party i was gonna return to is probably getting to be over.

The next day i go down to my tank to feed the discus, and i notice the water is cloudy again and the fish are gasping at the surface. So i get a bucket of water ready and move my discus and neons to a different tank. Then i do 2 95% water changes with hot water to kill the yeast. The next day i come down and see the plants are dying so i move them also to a different tank. So now i have an empty 20 gallon tank that probably needs to be recycled. My weekend was just great!!  :(

Ron: My Ph is somewhere at neutral, it isn't much of a change though because i had my ph at 6.8 before.

Snorky: Warm water will help activate yeast but, hot water will kill it.

Are the fish stressed?

95% water changes is A LOT!

Maybe next time you should advise htem ot stay away from the fish tank. Or sit by it and guard it*crazysmil (easy ot do, just watch the fish)
