ughhh...Mowing Friday Ive never moved the tank before

I have two tanks a seventy gallon and a twenty gallon. I was going to 1.take the fish out and put them in a 5 gallon bucket 2. drain tank and then move it by pickup truck to the new place thats 20 minutes away. Anyway just looking for some advice or anyone that has first hand experience.

Unless your bucket has a good cover, I recommend getting a big, clean garbage bag and lining the bucket with that, then tying it off (leaving plenty of air at the top) so that they don't splash all over. Keep the fish in the cab of the truck with you, so they don't cool down during the drive.

Be aware that this will take you longer than you think... plan accordingly.

If you can get lids for the buckets. It will prevent the splashing during the ride over. Keep the gravel and filter media wet during the trip so the bacteria will stay alive. When you get it all set up you might have a mini Cycle.

The move went well All of the fished lived and to add a tip for people moving make sure to bring help the more the better. And whatever amount of time you have allocated for moving the fish make sure to doublw it.
