did a water change like usual and Blueberry's tail looks 'ragged' this morning! So I did a test, amonia is at .25. did another water change and added some betta fix. anything else I can do!>?!?!?!!?!?!?

I'm sorry that sucks...but it sounds like you made the right move. Test the ammonia again later tonight or tomorrow and if there's still some in there do another water change. If its fin rot you definitely dont want to have bad water conditions. How long have you had your tank up? (ie is it cycled?)

I did the water change and instead of my usual AMQuel and NOVAqua I used Prime. I just tested and my amonia is at 0. Should I do another water change?
or is it stable and ok?

EDIT: The tank is at a month now, Blueberry was just put in a little bit ago.

Try to get Bio-Spira that will help keeps things in line. It is adult ammonia eating bacteria. I always use it when starting any aquarium.

does his tail look torn apart or just frayed a bit, i know when i had satch in the 10 gallon tank he hated it, he could see his reflection and it drove him so mad he literally chewed half his tail off, its coming back nicely now, but i think he got confused and thought it was another betta, and attacked his tail lol

I think he tore it on a decrationthat I had int here for the AFD (havent got those yet) and I put him back in a 1/77g. I feel bad to put him back in a smaller place though lol

Yeah you have to watch decorations with Bettas they have so much fun they don't know they are getting a bad fin day LOL

UB's fins got trashed from a large castle I bought him, I replaced it with a cave he was mad he loved that thing but he got use to splunking in about a week. (-:

thats exactly what I justput inthe tank, a rock with 2 little caves in it and I noticed that blueberry was moving in and out of it alot. Do their fins grow back out?

yes they grow back rather quickly i think, give him about a month or 2 ant they will be back to normal, and they keep growing lol
