The fish are still doing great, and will be moving into their new home by the end of next week.

Ended up going with a 120 square. (48x24x24) Will post pics when I get the thing set up.

Some helpful info for members: I talked to an aquatic vet, who told me that Oscars are fine with 30g a piece. The 5 gallons per inch rule really doesn't apply.

My black belt has grown well in the few months I've had him, now about 2.5 inches, from basically a fry.

Oscars are fine in a 30G when they're little. A full grown oscar can't even turn around in a 30G. They grow to over 12 inches.

Talking about gallons of usage. They need a 4ft length when full grown, and they don't make a 4ft 30 gal, which would be just the weirdest tank we would ever see *twirlysmi

Still a 33 LONG is not nearly tall enough for an Oscar which is the point and it's not nearly enough water for one. You'd be doing water changes daily.

Save the 33 long for plecos and loaches and smaller Cichlids. It's not an Oscar tank.
