Firstly I want to apologize fro not keeping you guys posted. I was computerless for a while :-/
In any event, I took all your suggestions and did the folowing. I added some water from my other established tanks to "prime" the oscar tank with the good bacteria I then added the airstone..with this i saw results within hours. The fish weren't gasping, with that the foul odor disappread and the Ph stayed at around 7. I didn't feed them for 24 hours. I then went to the store and purchased a Penguin Biowheel filter..I think it's the 400..the one with 2 biowheels. I found that this agitates the water enough so I could remove the airstone (the oscars kept knocking it around) So i have the whisper and the penquin on there. with your help I am happy to say I didn't lose any fish. I have removed 2 of the oscars to other tanks to avoid the overcrowding issue. I have not had any problems like this since.
Thanks again to everyone who helped me out with my fish crisis!
Luna ;D
PS The leeches came in on the feeders. The store had gotten a "bad" batch.
