Sorry for the pic overload here. :eek:
I couldn't pick out just a few favorites out of ones I took from yesterday & today, so I decided to share a bunch of pics which I thought deserved to be posted. :cool:

It's nearing almost a month since I got him...








Last one isn't really of him...
But I still thought it looked cool to see the oranges blended together from him and the tiger barbs.

I just wish his body was straight in that 2nd pic...the way he's curved from swimming kinda makes it look funny, IMO. Oh well...I'll keep trying for that 'perfect' shot, lol.

Somewhere between 2.5 and 3.0" total length...he's definitely a lot chunkier too.

Excellent question, Jeff...one that I have even been asking myself as of late...

A few deaths have occurred, but I've never actually witnessed him 'dining' on tiger barb remains. Tail fins were partially-missing on the victims---not tattered, but rather, large chunks out of them (as you might expect from a larger predator). Perhaps the following compilation of photographic 'evidence' will lead to the real culprit...

Primary suspect: tiger oscar (alias - "Triton")
Acting rather 'innocent'; pretending not to notice his next victim, perhaps?


Trying to blend in with the crowd, eh? Nice try...we're on to you, Triton!

Notice the damage to the caudal fin on his latest target. :eek:

I'll see what else I can dig up on the case in the coming weeks.

hmmmm triton the killer? nahh i think the other tiger barbs were jealous of the ones that died so they did a couple of quick kills and some nipping to make it look like it was the big guys fault. because he looks way to innocent.
