Is switch from air diffusers to powerhead worth the investment, I don't feel like it's circulating enough water for the UGF to be effective enough. I don't have any high waste-creating fish, but I still would feel more comfortable with more powerful filtration system. This is for my 29 gallon tank with 8 black neons and 18 cardinals. This tank is my newest tank, so it's still developing, It's been running a little over a month now, my plants are really flourishing though, that's a good sign, I'm surprised how fast they are growing without any additives or co2.

For cardinals not really.
the extra water movement might not treat the plants well.
this answered my question to you in a previous thread where i was wondering if the ugf was in the 55 or the 29.
If your fish aren't dying and your plants are growing will then your UGF is effective.
