Upside down catfish sick

I need some help my poor upside down catfish darnu (named darn u because when my g/f gave him to me for my bday she didnt tell me it was an upside down catfish so when I woke up the next morning I thought he was dead till i poked him and he scared me lol) is sick with something and I dont know what.

He looks to be having trouble breathing and his belly is swollen. He is typically jet black but now he is more of a murky white. I really want to save him he is probably my favorite.
