how much UV light is bad???

can any one shed some " Light " on the subject?

no just lighing in general.

i bought two 24" 50/50% "Reef Sun" lights for my tank.

it says and i quote

" 50/50 combenation of 6500k trichromatic daylight phosphor and actinic 420 phosphor is one lamp "


I'm trying to find out if i have enough or still need more.

I think you might be a little confused about lighting.

The lighting you bought will be fine for a FOWLR tank, but it isn't enough lighting for corals. If you want corals, you'll need to buy a new fixture.
