I just installed my UV sanitizer and it is causing a million small bubbles to come out of my filter.

The whole reason I got the light was to have chrystal clear water and the bubbles are defeating the whole purpose of the light because the water is looking more cloudy than ever just because there are so many bubbles.

I did install the light on the suction side of my canister filter and the instructions said the light would work better on the pressure side but the tube sizes were not the right size on the pressure side.....that is the only thing that I could see that I did wrong....and I dodn't see how that would cause more bubbles than being on the pressure side...in fact I can't even figure out how on earth this thing could be causing bubbles at all.

Anyone else have any experience with this?

Thanks

Take a good look at your connections. Might be a small enough "opening" somewhere that's causing air to get sucked in like a venturi. The other thing it could be is air trapped in the unit and bleeding out slowly.

Do you have any pics of the set up? What kind of UV and filter?

Also, the reason the UV works better on the discharge side is the filtered water has less "gunk" to foul the quartz sleeve. Even a small build up can SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the UV transmission and there for, effectiveness.
