I let one of my relatives watch my fish while i was gone for 2 days on Vacation, gave them specific care instructions the whole 9 yards. They over fed my tank, fouled my water, and killed 3 of my kuhli loachs from it  I re arranged my entire tank, did a 50% water change, and am fixing to do a gravel vacume and 2 more 50% water changes. I think my other kuhli is gonna die to, he's acting odd. Just an update for you all who care about my tanks.....

Surely you knew from all the time you have been on this forum that the fish could go for a week at least without being fed - there have always been warnings about other people feeding your fish. That tank was way over stocked (142%) I believe and with no water testing so you had no idea what it was like when you left. If you look at your thread about your new betta you will see some more comments

Fishman1995, without the test kit that we've all said you should have had for OVER A YEAR now, there is no way to know what killed your fish. Your guppies died, now your loaches have died. The tank is too small for such large stocking unless you can TEST YOUR WATER AND DO THE NEEDED WATER CHANGES. To expect the fish to live in foul water and survive and thrive is asking too much. Ammonia and nitrite are clear, clean water is clear, there is no way to know what the fish are swimming in without TESTING IT!!!

Funny, but we have all taken the time to CARE about your tanks, it is YOU who don't seem to care. Even with our many suggestions over the past year, you have insisted on making the same mistakes over and over again. We have had no control over your actions. This has nothing to do with money - you apparently find enough to buy fish and also said getting the $30 or $40 for the shrimp you were going to order was no problem. Yet the test kit never materializes. And one other thing I will mention, because I am starting to think you don't understand "leveling". The 20 g tank was not level, although you complained about how much work it was to do so, so you must have fabricated that story. Now I can see the 5.5 tank isn't level and although that probably won't break it, I don't think you get that the problem isn't the dresser - its the floor. You will have the same problem if you ever get another stand. You are going to have to figure out how to get the stand level on the floor before filling it.

Hello; Back in the 1950's I had a great uncle who lived way off in the back part of Lee County Virginia. We arrived for a visit to find him chopping at the big beam over the entrance to his barn. The barn was made from big old rough hewn beams with a dirt floor. My dad asked Uncle Henry why he was cutting big notches in the beam. Uncle Henry replied that his new mule was taller than the others and kept hitting it's ears on the beam when it went in and out of the barn. Dad suggested that Henry could just dig some dirt from the floor. Uncle Henry replied that that was a foolish notion because it was the mule's ears that were the problem and not it's feet.

Sort of like the person who cut the bottom off the blanket and sewed in on top to make it longer - or for that matter like daylight savings time lol

Actually if you cut a blanket diagonally from corner to corner and shift it and sew it back together you can make it longer.

Daylight saving time is really only still utilized because research indicates it increases retail sales and thus stimulates the economy. In my state, ignorant cotton farmers believed an extra hour of sun would burn up their crops, so we don't participate.

But overstocking itself might not be a big deal on its own, and getting behind on water changes might not be a big deal on its own, and not testing water regularly might not be a big deal on its own, and having a non-aquarist feed your fish might not be a big deal on its own, but together it's a perfect storm. Instead of just reading the forum, please pay attention and self examine. Stop killing so many fish.

On that note I'd like to point out that the Feeder Blocks from Tetra are a bad product. They're mostly just chalky stuff that doesn't do much feeding, just disintegrate and cloud and foul up the water. Don't use 'em. Use an automatic feeder or something like that but I would avoid the feeder blocks.
