Just wanted to share a little vacation feeding hint I came up with--I haven't seen anything like it in the stores....
My tank is in my office, and there are some weeks where I don't come in, and I don't want to invest in one of those vacation feeders, and hate those little white bricks.
I found that instead of trying to show someone how much of what to feed the fish, I just ration out the week's supply in one of those weekly pill boxes (little cube for each day of the week that snaps shut).
You can get them for less than $1 at the pharmacy, or ask your Dr.-- they get a lot for free from drug reps (that's where I get mine). All I have to do is fill the box before I go, and my coworkers can just empty the cube. (some of the pill cases are set up for multiple times a day, if you needed more space or were going to be gone longer.
In fact, I'm watching a friends tank this week, and even though I know how to feed the fish, I had her put the food in the case anyway, I don't have to worry about it--just open the cube and dump.
