Actually you are right that blanching is just a minute or two in boiling water. The thing is that I have read that the plecos like the zuchinni to be pretty soft when you put it in. I've been trying for days to offer him a piece each day but he doesn't go near it. By the time the morning comes around it has this awful white fuzz on it. I remove it right away but it's gross!

You do need to remove it the next day, as it will go bad in the tank. That's normal.

I sometimes blanch my zucchini slices in the microwave for about 8 seconds. For me that's a lot easier than boiling water etc. :)
Hi Lotus!! I checked your website! Gosh I sure hope that Pool picture is just a joke!;)

I just put em in a cup of water and put them in the microwave for about a minute....
i've put them in fresh to the tank as well.
depends on the type of fish you have...most fish will eat them raw without a problem

I let mine sit in the tank till they are gone....just don't go crazy and put in a ton of the stuff....
