Velvet needs a Pleco ID

He hasn't came out of hiding yet but he's eating and making dashes here and there.

Any idea what he may be though? I'm still looking on planetcatfish.com but it can't hurt to post, maybe one of you have the same thing!

It looks like a common pleco, but the markings are somewhat different, they are more wavy than anything.

It could be a sailfin, but it's hard to tell. It could be a "common" plec, as there are lots of color variations for them.

it looks like a common pleco to me...with one of the many color variations. if you paid less than $10 for it, its probably a "common pleco" . do you remember how much you paid for it?

It was actually one of the fish my roomie brought home and dumped me with. I've asked him what the label on it was when he bought it but he just calls it a fancy sucker.

And I never knew that there were color variations for the common plecos! I think I may camp out next to my tank with a camera, he's coming out more and more during the daylight hours. I'll look into the 'Snow King' pictures here in just a little while.

My boss calls that an Ornate Pleco. I know that is probably not the real name for it but he says it's cause of those cool wavy marks and when they go near the surface and come ack down, their marks turn almost white. Really great looking fish though, I used to have one( as seen on my sig, just to lazy to remove it) I know this doesn't help much but just adding my 2 cents
