Vinegar for VersaTop?

I got it used, so there's lots of calcium deposits and crud on it.
I'm assuming you just soak a cloth in regular old white vinegar and wipe the glass off with it to get this crap off of it, right?

Any need to rinse the glass with water afterwards, or is the vinegar completely non-toxic to fish?

Vinegar works, but you might need a razor blade, too, if it's really crusted up.

It's a good idea to rinse it. While it's not toxic, vinegar can lower your pH if it gets in the tank.

Razor Blade does really well...
I had white stuff caked all over the glass of my plastic 10 gallon hood... I just put it in the sink, splashed a little more water over the glass, and scraped it off. The tank became much brighter.

Vinegar works great, let it soak in then use a razor blade as well lke the others said.
