Visitherm Stealth Heater

The package says "fully submersible", but the heater itself has a water level line...

Am I correct in understanding that the Visitherm Stealth Heater can be placed horizontally, completely submerged, along the level of my gravel? Or is it just like any other heater that can only dip into the top of the water...?

it can go completely into the water. the water level line is for it and the person, when the water gets that low it automatically turns off.
its a very nice heater :)
ive got 2 and like them a lot better than the glass heaters, which break too easily. and plants touch mine and it doesnt do much, and theres no calcium build up that i have noticed so far.
