Walmart Cartridges in Emperor?

I was wondering if the media cartridges sold at walmart fit in an Emperor 280. I am asking because they're both made by marineland and the Walmart ones are much cheaper. Thanks for the replies in advance.

Look on the package/box. It might say compatible with several filter brands/models

I looked on my filter package and it doesn't say nothing about what else it fits. They are manufactured by MarineLand. If you need cartridge measurements, they're 6 1/2" x 5 3/4". That cartridge is for my AquaTech 20-40 Power Filter, is that the Emperor's equivalent? Hope that helps

I don't know if they would fit a emperor 280 because I don't have one of those. I would also like to know myself.

However, Marineland makes aqua-tech, penguin, and emperor filters. I've noticed that a filter cartridge on an aqua-tech 20-40 will fit perfectly on a penguin 170 (because its the same cartridge sold in a different wrapper). I suppose the cartridge for aqua-tech 30-60 will fit the penguin 330 also. Seems to me that the aqua-tech filters are essentially penguin bio-wheels, minus the biowheel. Perhaps they might have a lower gph then the penguins filters, but they do seem to use the same parts.

yea antwan, find out the equivalent to your filter int he penguin series then go on aquabid, they sell kits to make them into biowheel filters
