Walmart Fish Tanks

Anyone know much about them and their quality??

The lighting is insufficient for planted tanks, and if it comes with a filter, the filter is absolute crap. Other than that, what are you asking specificly?

Their prices seem really good, compared to other pet stores. I'm just wondering if the quality of the tank is as good.

The tanks are made from a subsidary (sp) of All-Glass Aquariums. So the tanks themselves are great, but as BigRed pointed out the filters are crap. I'd go with the AC.

I think that he/she might be talking about the fish too. I wouldnt buy fish there but the basic stuff is fine. Walmart sells Whisper too so not everything is garbage.

Please lets not turn this into another bash Walmart thread. I believe they were just talking about the tanks and equipment. As we've discussed extensively different walmarts are different with their level of fish.

I've gotten one tank from Walmart...was a great buy. Whisper is OK but they cost about the same as AquaClear and the AC's usually get better reviews.

i think wal-mart has really good prices on tanks. i got all of my tanks there and they seem very good quality. cant say much for the fish.

The tanks are comparable to most low-end tanks. The silicone job is usually pretty sloppy, but they hold water. As other said, the equipment isn't great.

What I meant it the Aqua tech filters are junk. Some of walmart's tanks come as "starter kits" which include filters and the like, which I would stay away from. Other than that, the tanks are fine. there are better out there, but you'll be hard pressed to beat the price.

Yea, i have a walmart tank. i got it with a kit so i got the aqua tech filter. Its not bad but it should be exchanged for a better one because it just doesnt have enough power to filter the water properly.

I have a ten gallon tank from wal-mart. Basically what everyone else has said they hold water. IMO they dont look the greatest, the silicon isnt that great. Filter that come with I just threw away. dont like the disposable filterpads replaced with a aquaclear.
