it wouldn't be a good idea to add anything to that tank imo

maybe after you put your big guys in the larger tank that they need you could put a frog in there

there are two types of aquatic frogs commonly available

african dwarf frogs and african clawed frogs

heres a web page that explains the difference and gives some care information

I have african dwarf frogs, and african clawed frogs. The dwarf frogs I have love to eat blood worms, and the occasional snack of some sinking pellets. The Clawed frogs eat shrimp pellets, and anything else they can fit into there mouths.

The clawed frogs have huge hind legs, so you can imagine how powerful they can jump. The dwarf frogs are, of couse, smaller, but belive me, these guys can jump like you wouldnt belive. They are worse trying to net than the clawed frogs. Last time I had to net them, three out of four managed to jump out of the net. So I wouldnt even think about puting either frog into any tank that does not have a well covered top.

Enough about frog care. I dont think that either frog stands a chance in you tank with those fish. If the fish are not able to eat it whole, they will either pick it to death, or stress it to death. So unless you just want to waste money of frogs, dont do it.

Had a frog. Turtle ate w/in 3 hours. Got a second frog. It managed to get into the fry net and eat about 12 fry. Thing is cute but a pain in the butt. Wish the turtle would eat this one too.

You're going to need the 80 gallon long before December, like now would be a good time

And keep your pH at 6.8 - 7.5, for your purposes only African Rift Cichlids need higher pH's. But keep it stable
